The Korea Woman Fine Arts Association, which was established in 1973,
is comprised of woman who majored in painting in college and is the oldest historic woman’s
artists group. Though 47 years has passed since its establishment, this group has worked
tirelessly through the ages to continuously promote exhibitions which showcase individuality
and variety, works of the genre, and serve the development and advancement of Korean
woman’s art throughout history.
This organization has helped to represent the state of women’s affairs throughout the
decades. For example, in the era of the 70's and 80’s, the range of activities that could
involve feminization was very limited due to the emphasis on the traditional bed of arts.
However, The Korea Woman Fine Arts Association, even now that nearly half a century has
passed, has worked endlessly through team work, invitational work, and international work,
to display and expand its work to continually bring new budding interest and activity in the
area.
This advancement may be credited to the fact that each member possesses an inner power
and passion thanks to creative motivation.
As a result, in 2011,
The Korea Woman Artists Association was able to become incorporated as the Corporation
Aggregate Korean Woman Fine Artists Association. Currently, The Korean Woman Fine Arts
Association holds exhibitions each year in the art gallery which represents The Republic of
Korea.
It is the largest exhibition and continues its activity through the art world, academia, etc.,
being vigorously active in their field in order to build a solid foundation for modern woman
artists. The 227 members include a senior painter, a midsize painter, and a new painter.
Through its exhibitions in various provinces, overseas, annual displays, and planning
upcoming events, it is steadily growing.
Our Korea Woman Fine Arts Association is actively involved in advancement through
seminars that are conducive to creative activities, such as travel sketches. Also the group
reaches out through the regular sharing of walking together with the needy,
and love shown through sharing activities targeted toward the disabled, the elderly, and
alone. Along with periodically open special topics and seminars, they help to refocus South
Korea’s woman's fine arts activities.
In other words, We can be viewed as ambassadors, reaching out and spreading the fine
art and delicate beauty that only women posses all over the world. Moving forward in the
future, The Korean Woman Fine Arts Association will continue to promote
activities of creativity to advance the Korean art world.
